Every lease plan we produce is drawn in AutoCAD to a precise metric scale, giving sharp, consistent, fully scaled drawings that meet HM Land Registry requirements. CAD production means accurate areas, clean line work, reliable colouring and plans that print to exact scale every time — the standard expected by solicitors and the Registry alike.
Lease plan floor plans are typically drawn at 1:100 or 1:200, with the location plan based on Ordnance Survey mapping at around 1:1250 or 1:500 in urban areas.. The scale must be stated on the drawing and the plan must be printed at that exact scale on A3 or A4. Using "fit to page" on a home printer changes the scale and can cause rejection.
Hand-drawn or marketing-grade plans rarely hold up to HM Land Registry scrutiny because their scale cannot be relied upon. AutoCAD plans are drawn from measured data to a defined scale, so distances can be measured directly from the printed plan. CAD also makes it straightforward to apply the red demise edging, green communal areas and other coding consistently across multiple plans.
A lease plan is only compliant if it is printed at the stated scale. Because our plans are produced in CAD and exported with the correct print settings, the scaled hard copies we post are accurate on A3 or A4. We also supply guidance for printing your own copies correctly, avoiding the "fit to page" error that causes so many rejections.

We review your information against HM Land Registry requirements. If reliable scaled drawings exist we can work from them; otherwise one of our specialist surveyors measures the demised area and shared parts on site.
Your lease plan is drawn in AutoCAD. We aim to email a draft PDF within 48 hours of survey where possible. Typical overall turnaround is 3–5 working days. Review the draft, request any amendments covered by our terms, and approve before printing.
Once approved, we print the plan to scale on A3 or A4 and post up to four hard copies to your chosen address — a final, Land Registry compliant plan ready for submission.
